2015 Winter Nationals
Hi Guys,
The Winter Nationals started with the idea of racing the best of the Crew Chief race against the best of the Sedan Shootout. Originally, I was going to run the top 4 of each against each other...but then!
Then, I realized that I would have around 64 cars here...hmmm. And I've been reading a book about Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, talking about the early days of stock bodied drag racing...and in those days, if 100's cars, or 200 showed up, they ALL raced!
And then, Smitty mentioned 'the Winter Nationals', and that was all it took. Let's run all the cars...random draw...let the cards fall where they will! So, that is what is going to happen tomorrow, Sunday!

And here are the brackets (I did two 32-car brackets)...
I am going to be running a FAST track...25.5" drop and a 160" straight. A different track than any that I have been running.
It is rainy here so I might not be able to do the fancy match-up shots. But I will start running them in the morning.
If you look at the brackets, I added an S (sedan) a T (truck) or an R (rod) to tge numbers to help keep it straight.

Good racing! The Rods are having a hard time, but the trucks are holding their own against the Sedans.

*Rally Cases Fairlane...the body came off in it's last race (held on with double-sided tape). I jb welded the body on, and with the body not as close to the wheels (floating axles), it's really fast! Sorry I didn't catch it earlier...the wheels were spinning free, but they must have been hitting just a little

Going to get an esrly start on this one! I'm afraid it's a rather yucky day outside, so I won't be able to do my match-up shots...maybe once the field is a little smaller, I'll do some shots.

Just getting through to the final 8 is going to be an accomplishment in this field!
