3D printed Break-in Tool/Dyno

LONE_WOLF_RACING Thursday, 9/4/2025

I just made a Dremel-powered Break-in Tool/Dyno. I found it on Thingverse and molded the design in Tinkercad to fit the bearings that I already had. Works great with my rechargeable Dremel but my corded one was way too powerful. It broke the dyno wheel pretty quickly. Otherwise, we will see how it works on future cars.

I also printed one of these. It seems to work pretty good. I want to figure out a way to attach a motor to it.

what size is the drive shaft?

use a cheap toy slot car or crash track car

remove a wheel on the rear axle

(easiest to destroy the wheel, as they are usually cast onto the shaft)

and connect the two shafts

a thick rubber tube may do,

or make a solid coupler

  • I have a MESS of the C/R cars, Who wants one? — Bent_Rod_Racing
  • Thx for the idea Dr! I would like one Bent Rod. You can send it along with my Sardine cars once the races are over. Thx... — LONE_WOLF_RACING
  • I'd take you up on one or two when you send my car back. Gracias!! -Z- — Zamak_Speed_Shop
  • Sorry...thought I wrote this but saw I didn't. The drive shaft is the regular/standard dremel shaft (I screwed in one of the cotton buffing wheel attachments). — LONE_WOLF_RACING
