3rd Annual Hot Wheels Nite

s_p_kranzor Wednesday, 12/10/2025

Hello everyone. Its that time of year again where I try to drum up local interest in die-cast racing. So far its been met with luke warm success. Some get slightly interested, a few stay interested, everyone has fun. Live music, race for beers, video games, anything I can do to ply them to race cars with me. Its in a few days and as usual I'm pretty nervous about it. Its a two part event, the 13th and 31st. 2025 Bluestem Championship. Wish me luck, I'll keep you posted.

Heres a couple flyers I made leading up to the event.

Get all of your procedures in place on how to handle sign in, race prep, and the running of the heats.  Get a helper or how many you need to help run the event.  Make it fun, rally the crowd, be friendly.  This is for fun, so enjoy it.

  • Volunteer race officials are ready and waiting. We have all the necessary procedures in place to ensure a smooth evening. Unfortunately theres not much for competition amongst the people, yet. Most attendees dont bring their own car and dig through the bucket. I let them open and race the cars I've been collecting over the year too. — s_p_kranzor

The rip-n-race is a great way to get people to see what the heck diecast racing even is...don't expect too many to bring cars of their own. It's the job of the hosts to keep people hyped and show them the fun of competition so that next time they will bring their own car. If you make it look and sound like a big deal, others will go with the flow - be a game show host :)

But just make sure when you spot those that seem to be wanting more, you have something to give them to guide them into the hobby. Maybe a hand-out postcard, business card, or something that can lead them in the right direction.

Bar league nights are a staple of local diecast racing and we've seen many folks start them in their towns over the years. But it sounds like you got things planned and ready...good luck!
