57g max weight -why?

Just curious, but why is 57g the universal max weight. why not make it an even 60?

not positive, but when I started I remember.
57g = 2oz...
113g =4 oz...
These classes were being run and recognized by a guy online King Kuda. Races were held at King Kuda racaway (his home set up). He was the mail in race originator... Over on HWC.com....Long before we did mail in racing here at the RLD.
