A slight change to our Modified Class (LJLRC)
We are making a change now before it gets to late to the length limit in our Modified Class. Right now it's a 3 inch limit and a lot of builders/racers like the Hot Wheels Cadillac V16 casting. This casting is just over the 3 inch Mark and because this is a Modified Class we don't want to be that strict especially on the length of car's. So in saying this we are going to bump up the length to 4 inches. We are sorry for any inconvenience to anyone but we would rather make this change now with only one race in rather than wait until there are more. Any questions feel free to contact or message me.

Chris you make total sense on this! Because this is a brand new class that is the only reason for this change. We enforce our race rules in all of our race classes every month. Let me talk to Jon about this and I will get this settled ASAP.
The only reason that I said anything is because the Way2Fast and Caddy16 cars do have a mechanical advantage going in. If I could have built a longer car, I would have...weight, wheels and long wheelbase are what makes cars fast :)

Hmmm, this isn't exactly the time to be changing the rules, now is it?
What we have are one (or maybe two?) cars that were built too long for the rules that you originally posted. Jon hadn't realized that his cars were too long when he sent then in, so I am not in any way saying that he is cheating He just wasn't aware of the 3" rule. And Jon offered to pull his cars out of the race.
We all know that longer wheelbase cars have an advantage. It is a mechanical advantage...the longer the wheelbase, the longer gravity can act on the car before they transition to the flat. Cars such as Way2Fast and the Caddy 16 have proven this over and over.
So, in the interest of fairness, might I make a suggestion? Perhaps, you should pull the cars that are over limit from this race and change the rules later on? Maybe, you could race the over 3" cars against the winner, just for bragging rights...and that way, they still get to run.
I've run a lot of modified races and I've always tried to be as fair as possible. If a car is over weight (like, a lot over weight, 3 grams or more), I'll let the owner know and try to alter the car to get it legal if it is okay with the owner. But, by changing the rules at the last minute to accommodate one car, it's rather frustrating to the builders that built their cars with the original rules
Just my 2 cents...make your rules, stand by them, enforce them
