Alignment jig

Jav74 Monday, 7/23/2018

An unimaginable tragedy has hit my family Saturday. The day before, I made a pencil jig. My free pencils are the classic hex not round. I wasn’t happy with it so I pulled them apart and removed as much wood glue as I could. Redid it. I’m confused. Some wheelbases just don’t go in the grooves for both axles. I will not give up. Any time I have to just be in my own head will be my time to continue working at this hobby. I just might not make Bare Muscle and Dixie. I won’t give up. In the name of our lost Lyndsey, life will continue for the rest of us. We will strive to continue to do what we do in everyday life. It just won’t be quite the same. Ever. But I will race you people soon. Thanks for all the tips and enthusiastic way that you guys respond. It really makes a guy feel welcome. I’ll get some progress pics at some point.

I'm guessing the family dog?

Sorry for your loss and we'll be here...keeping those Diecast Wheels turning...and we'll leave the light on for you.

Sorry for your loss.

Here is a pic of a jig that has worked good for me. The two inside pieces are adjustable and slide in between the two outside rails. The trick is just getting the wheel groove pieces exactly parallel - not too hard though, just takes some attention to detail.

Sorry for dumping all that personal crap out on you guys. This is not the place for a rook to unload. She wasn’t a dog. Sorry again for all that. But I have done what I said. I haven’t put the 180 in or used the start gate and finish line but I have been working on cars. I’m hoping for 2 entries in the Dixie Challenge and 3 in the Bare Muscle 4? Now I see that TE is aiming for a race. I need to find a few of those 50th cars maybe.
