An idea...Bracket Racing...

Hi Guys!

I was talking with FatMike the other day, and he had a very good idea! He has been a bracket drag racer for a long time, and he made a very cool suggestion...why not do some bracket racing with Hot Wheels! This type of racing rewards consistency rather than shear speed.

This idea might take a little tweaking for 1/64 scale, but this is what Mike suggested...every car entered makes three passes (maybe 4, 2 on each lane) and you take the average and subtract .1 second, and you have your index (may .05 for Hot Wheels, since there isn't a driver in them). The races will be run in a normal, tournament-style race, with the car that runs closer to it's index is the winner (without 'breaking out...running faster than it's index).

This way, a slower car stands just as good a chance to win as a fast car!  I need a theme for a race...maybe car's from the '50's...maybe Muscle cars?

Let me know what you think, Guys! And you can thank FatMike for this idea.

P.S. this type of race would work best on tracks with good timing systems...I'm not sure if my drag track will be accurate enough...I need to run a race and see how it goes!

Sounds good to me, but I'll have to pass on running them at my house as I don't have a timer.  We won't be able to do it at the LJLRC only because it will take more time than we'll be able to commit with all the runs needed to get an average and then figure out who races who.

I still like the idea though!
