Race format and scoring

There will be time trials to decide the fastest 16 or 32 depending on the amount of entries. This will be a single-elimination tournament. 4 cars will race at a time with the top 2 moving on to the next round. Cars will rotate starting positions so each car starts in all four starting positions in every round.
Points are awarded as follows:
1st- 5pts
2nd- 3pts
3rd- 2pts
4th- 1pt
DNF- 0pts
Top 2 points totals after each round move on. If necessary, tiebreaker races between the tied cars only will determine who moves on.

Penalties/DNF

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not race in the tournament. If enough cars do not meet the requirements, they will race each other for pure entertainment and fun.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

1st place- ARC engraved trophy coin and stand, ARC hat, sticker and bonus gift.
2nd place- ARC hat, sticker and bonus gift.
3rd place- ARC sticker pack and bonus gift.

I'm old.  I'm a British car guy.  Thus I was raised to believe that a sports car is open top, has two seats, and prioritizes agility over all else.  Grandpa used to tell me that my MGB didn't count because it had glass windows in the doors and you couldn't drag your fingernails on the ground by hanging your arm out the door when driving.  That's an exceptionally small/nonexistent field when it comes to Merican cars.  What's the definition of sports car for this event?
