Beater Trucks and Fat Fendered Hot Rods series
Here's what it's haulin'...
Hmmm... beater truck... 1934 Dodge Humpback Panel, chopped, fenderless, '34 Ford Convertible mill, rear bumper removed to make weight... On a Doozie's base... a veteran of Brian's truck race a couple years ago... not a winner, but is a beater !
White behind engine is drying glue ;
Fatso, well maybe ;
Cabbie ;
Phatter ;
Can the truck be a Baja Breaker van?
Yeah sure...as long as it makes the weight...and has been around the block a few times!
If I send 2 fatties can you race them, enter the winner for the sloppy jalopies and give the other out as a prize ?
I think I'll do this like the CCC, Smitty...allowing two 'teams' per person (two trucks and two fatties). But, if you build more and want me to race them off, that would be no problem, Smitty. That's what Traction Event did for the Sedan Shootout...he sent in 3 cars and the third fast car became a rental/prize car.
Sound good?
I've got a pretty cool project in the works for this one...a '41 Willys...that I will do another 'build up' on. I've got the donor cars coming, so keep an eye out for it!
:)
Another one for you Ford guys...
I picked up a cool '56 COE car hauler that makes a pretty cool hauler for these Beaters and Fatties!
Well, here are the two cars that will soon become one car....
An original Neet Streeter chassis will be going under the '41Willys Coupe body. I'll do this build in it's own thread and take step by step pics along the way.
I just want to get the wheels turning for some cool beater trucks and fat fendered hot rods!
if you are going to drill a '56 ford pick up with bikes... note that you can carefully save the axles by prying on the axle to slide it out from under its plastic anchor... these axles will [restore] some '73 to '76 redline cars...
- Most of the cars I've been taking apart, the axles have been pretty shot! But, that's a good point, Smitty! — 72_Chevy_C10
corvette C6 seems to be a fairly easy base swap under the '56 ford pick up [had bikes] '
with a little trimming the body sits nicely on the base, even looks like running boards...
Hole in the hood, 2 of crazy 8's carbs, lead bed floor, broken bumper and a lost WS...
- I love the '56 casting...they are such cool looking trucks! — 72_Chevy_C10
- gonna see a few in this series ! — model40fan

I've been wearing this old '56 Ford out, hauling these Hot Rods around (good this it has a Chevy in it!)...
