Building Blasphemy...in 1/64 scale
Hey Guys,
I haven't posted much over the last few weeks, mainly, because I got hit with the news that my place of employment is closing up shop come next Spring. If you didn't already know, I work as a 3D modeler at McFarlane Toys, and I've been there for almost 19 years. So, needless to say, I'm going to be facing some changes over the next few years.
I am not one, however, to be put off by change...it's just another opportunity! In the toy world...and in other graphic and artistic fields...your portfolio is a pretty huge part of your resume. And I have lots of work to put in my portfolio, but, I thought I'd take a little stab at creating something to get me noticed by some of the cooler die cast companies out there...by creating Mike Finnegan's Blasphemi Hemi-powered '55 Chevy. If you don't know the story of this car, do yourself a favor and look it up...it's quite a story.
So, I'm going to start of with an M2 '55 Chevy...
...and attempt to build a replica of Finn's '55! This will mean modeling the chassis, engine, driveline and interior and printing them out. I'll probably also have to create the flip front nose and a deck lid. I figure this will be a nice diversion for me and, even if I don't get to try working at M2, I'll still have a cool model to give to Finnegan!
So, I'll get started on this, and I'll use this thread as a build thread as I go along. It should be fun!

Looking good! Been a while, great to see this community is still nice and active :)
Sorry to hear about McFarlane. You certainly have a great body of work, both in figures and cars. You're a toy vet, so no worries! Go shoot for a job at Mattel!
Is McFarlane downsizing or closing everything? I haven't seen any news of McFarlange at large closing down...
I've done a couple of roadkill cars in 1:64. I'm no professional so im sure yours will be nicer good luck
