Car Tuned and Q Style Diecast Drag Strip

My favorite style of diecast cars is Q-style(think Hotwheels Tooned line). Growing up I had two favorite toys, Hotwheels(of course) and Penny Racers. In jr.college I discovered Penny Racers where actualy called Choro Q and they had all sorts of interesting tracks and play sets. A couple of months ago I was on Ebay and picked up the Choro Q Battle Set:

This came with a mat that had a drag strip on the back! Which got me thinking...

From what I can find online Takara Tomy defined the scale of Q-Style. So according to this box, after converting millimeter to inches, a full size drag strip for any car in Q-Style is 28.6 inches. This got me excited because I've wanted to set up a perminant 1/4 mile drag strip but don't have the room to do so.  I decided I was going to make my own 3D printable Q-Style Drag strip.

This is only a working prototype for now. I want to repalce the plastic board with interlocking 3D printed track sections later. I made this track so it can fit all Q-style diecast I know of on the market at the present: Car Tuned, Muscle Machines, Hotwheels Tooned, and Qubecarz. On to my next point for making this post and track. I LOVE CAR TUNED!!! I just wish MGM would release a drag strip to race them on. I get this toy line is for collectors and modders. But, the versatility and ease of modding Car Tuned cars would also make for great entry into the world of diecast racing. All wheel bases are interchangeable, you can easily change the ride height, plenty of room inside for weights, and best of all the cars all come pre-tapped. When testing the track I realized my corvette was too low to the ground so I used a screw driver and a butter knife to remove the front wheel and adjust it's ride height. You can even get unassembled kits so you can add your settings right from the start. There are some downsides to these cars like rubber tires and they don't fit on orange track. 

I'm currently experimenting with tuning these cars to race. They work really well on my track and the racing is exciting, even over the very short distance of 28.6 inches. I feel the rubber tires help with make the racing fun since it slows the car to a pace thats easy to catch on camera.

I want to host a Car Tuned mail in race here on Redline Derby in the very near future. Would anyone be interested in this? Maybe the 1st place prize could be the refined version of this track?
