Cars for Testing…

Before buttoning everything up on our track.  We would like to test with customized cars. We've run over a hundred cars and found high center gravity cars such as delivery trucks, tow vehicles, Hyper cars and super cars like Lambos and McLarens don't do well.  We will provide a list of cars that didn't make it after we finalized the track.

We would like to know if anyone would be interested in helping us do final test runs with sending in customized cars.  Weights wanted are 35 to 59 grams  No liquid graphite, powder only.  No extending cars and no shaving wheels.  Wheel and axel swaps allowed.

If I forgot anything, I'd be happy to edit or answer questions in the thread.

I can throw something together for ya

I assume you will film them

do metal machines roll on it very well?

dr

  • Some of the metal machines do very well. The Dollar Tree cars do not. Yes, we will video and post. The track is still under construction, but we are itching to get videos going. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
  • Good on you dr — CutRock_R_Marc_D

Do you have a YouTube channel? I might be able to get one to you. I'll let you know

As a mere fan, I get a big ol' grin seeing your track laid out like this! The raised platform is going to help so much in filming the last run! It appears you have room for a runout area after the finish line, a nice turn where cars can decelerate in a controlled fashion

Wishing Success!!

  • and lots of open air currently to fly off of...lol — dr_dodge
  • Thank Chris_Hood. From our testing, we are having a difficult time identifying which lane has the advantage. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
  • dr_dodge... true, we will need to fill in some of that open air. Although, it does make for great drama and story lines... LOL — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
  • when I build mine, I figured I'd use a roll of window screen and make a comtaimment chamber...lol — dr_dodge

You need to survive turn one with all that speed. I got a 45g and a 40g.

  • at least it you don't a 60 g car will but a dent in the door...lol — dr_dodge

Recorded a video of some testing we did today.  No special commentary, effects, or edits.

  • Turn one isn’t as bad as I thought. Great looking track. — alva1370
  • Well done so far! Cars seem to "flow" quite nicely a high % of the time. Some starts, if I recall seemed a bit bumpy. Cheers good luck! — CutRock_R_Marc_D
  • Yes, the start gate needs some adjusting… LoL I’ll use the test rounds to work in filming and making adjustments like the start gate. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway

Most definitely! As a track builder that hosts races, I know how important it is to get as many test runs in as you can.
I have a few ready to go by Wednesday if you'd like.

Chase Family Racing and Alva1370 were gracious enough to send a few cars for us to test on our track. I want to give a huge shout out to them and show them some appreciation. Here are a few pics I did.  Hope you enjoy!

CFR:

Alva:

  • very nice. yours are on the bench — dr_dodge
  • Thanks. No hurry. I hope to run those from CFR and Alva this weekend, maybe even run a four car race or two sine there is some interest. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
  • Oh boy, you’re making my cars look good. Thank you. — alva1370
  • The cars look awesome. That black Jaguar is sweet — ChaseFamilyRacing

If you are in need of another car or two, let me know I'd be happy to put a couple in the mail. Very nice looking track. I think it would also be interesting to see what four cars look like going down that. Could be some very interesting race dynamics.

I'll be happy to send you these two cars! Just let me know. Koenigsegg is 57g and the supra is 70g.

LMK if you still want more... I told myself I was done for the year but I'm itching to try out another build. And I still don't have a track of my own, so I'll take any lap reps I can get lol

  • lol, so did I, gonna get some stuff done around here...Oh, Wait....lol — dr_dodge
  • We may be slightly addicted doc — ConMan_Customs
  • I’d be willing to help you get a few more laps in. I’ll send you a message. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway

I can send you one or two. I have a F1 racer and a Nismo Leaf I'm working on.

Thanks for the support and graciously offering to send test cars.  The cars offered up to test the track should be good for now.

I want to get cars back to their owners in a timely manner.  Thank you.

  • All yours Eric. I’ve got Hot Wheels up to my ears over here. Include them in a prize, give them to your kid, keep them for yourself. It’s a perk from owning a track. — alva1370
  • Al, I appreciate that. We'll be sure to get them in some races and I still have some pics to post on a couple FB pages. I'll acknowledge you as the builder. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
  • Same here. No need to send them back. You can use them if you decide to build a diorama for it. — JBlotner42
  • Thanks JB. We'll be sure to give shout outs to all who have donated or allowed us to use their cars for testing and building diorama's. — Midwest_Diecast_Raceway
