Check your credits

Along with normal points for picking in the tournament, today is also the first time the credit awards are being test. Next time you're on the Dashboard page, check your credits and you should have a couple hundred or so...depending on where you finished in the points results. This doesn't mean anything yet but you should notice this number going up after every tournament.

I have a suggestion for something these credits can go towards! Can we purchase the ability to hold a slot in the tournament for a few days? In order to be able to choose a car for these events, you have to literally be on the hour or two that sign-ups open and if you can't be on for that, you're out of luck. Would be cool to be able to reserve a spot for a day or two so that other people have a chance at being able to pick!

Hmmm...that's not a bad idea. I hadn't really thought of that but worth considering if we can figure out some good rules to keep things fair. The primary purpose for credits will be to unlock cars that are added to the league...and even un-retire them if you have enough. But I'm open to any other ideas like this that will make things more fun and competitive.

Well, a week before the tournament is run (when its in the "upcoming" section) you can spend something like 100 credits to reserve a spot in that tournament for 24 hours after registration opens. Of course, this would only be limited to only a certain number per tournament (perhaps 8 or 10 so that the public still has a chance to get picks in at the normal time). After that 24 hours expires, if no car is chosen, that slot is open back up to the public!

I think this would be great for people in different time zones especially! Cause if the registration opens at 6pm EST, the guys in California are still in work (3pm for them). By the time they get out, all the spots could be filled.

Only problem there is that once people are told that all spots are filled, how many are going to go back and try again later?

Also, on the new update is there a way to know how many spots are open like we had in the old one?

Good thoughts and good questions. The whole open time for tournaments is hard to work around in any situation...someone always ends up feeling screwed, but that's also why entering a car has less point value than making picks. Entering a car is more like a reward for those dedicated enough to come early to play. I also try to set times later in the day ET to account for the west coast peeps. I think there is definitely a place for credits in the tournament entry stuff, but I want it to be solid.

@iowa - There should be a number denoting how many entry spots are left for new tournaments...where are you talking, just so we're both talking apples here. I might be inconsistent in where I put information, so we could both be right.
