Cleanup in aisle six, best ways to clean a car
AbbyNormal Monday, 12/1/2025
I've got two hot wheels cars that have some overspray on them. I'll start cleaning with hot water and a toothbrush and soap. But beyond that what is the strongest cleaning chemical I can use without ruining the finish?

Ive used brake cleaner on cotton buds to remove overspray with success. But dont rub too hard or too long in one spot otherwise you suddenly have a zamac finish.
Practice on a car you dont like to get the feel of how to do it.
I'd bet using miguires swirl remover may work. i have used it on real cars to fix overspray.
It is a very fine polish (like maybe 4000)
also wet sanding with a 3500 may be ok, too
followed with a light buff

Not a qualified answer, photos could help. Plus, we'd need to know the types of paint involved in the project. What are you using for this that oversprayed & the base coat under that. Are we talking enamels that require harsher solvents, or water based acrylics or even a mixture? You said overspray so was this rattle can or airbrush?
