Color Shifters' Axles: Polish or Not?
Since Color Shifters come with NP axles, how much additional benefit is there in polishing them?
Has anybody conducted any testing to see if there are noticeable net gains in additional friction reduction after polishing?
Discussion
Don't polish as heavy as you might strip off the nickel plating. I still polish them but more lightly than non-NPA
There is definitely a benefit in polishing NPA/FTE axles. As R-Lo said, take it easy on them and polish just a bit. It is probably wide-open for discussion, but I have noticed a benefit in using mothers polish for mainline axles and buffing with a separate clean fluffy dremel bit...and then try Flitz polish for NPA/FTE axles and buff them with a microfiber cloth.
Great question, thanks for the answers my brethren!
I've never seen a nickel plated axel suffer from a little polishing but I would recommend using mainline axels if speed is the objective
I was reading some other threads on Sunday and came across the first mention of Flitz. Went and found some on Monday and started using it, we shall see the results coming up later this next month.
Polish everything...
