Welcome to the Sunshine State where the temp is hot and the racing is hotter. Mopar Mafia Productions presents Gulf City Dragway's RLD Corvette Summer Series. Racers are weighed in, checked in and tech'd in. Gates open Sunday Morning @ 9Am.

Will 9.81 or 41-14 continue to dominate? Will League of Speed be too strong? Or is there a sleeper that can challenge deep into the late rounds to take the glory and the points? The tree and the tape will tell the tale of this short track story.

Stay tuned for tight racing action and further updates.

Gonna make a prediction and say Speed Force or Mad Maddie will take home the win in this one. Lady will be tough to beat too. I think this one will give us some good back and forth racing.

Brackets are set, adjusting and tuning the lighting and we're going green.

  • Just looking at the brackets. Not sure if it’s because it’s hard to see, but I don’t see either #6 or #9 unless one of them is in the top left bracket that’s obscured. Also #8 looks to be on there twice. Just an observation cause I didn’t see my #6on there anywhere. — 41-14
  • I concur...I don't see 6 or 9 and 8 is listed twice — LeagueofSpeed
  • I used the random seeding provided by the bracket website. I did it late last night. I looked at it again this morning with a fresh set of eyes and verified all the numbers and made adjustments accordingly. — Mopar_Mafia
  • #6 was seeded in lower left bracket. #8 caught a first round bye on the upper left bracket. # 9 was in the lower right seeding. Again, adjustments were made to correct any perceived problems — Mopar_Mafia

Wow...how'd you seed the Bracket? If it was random draw....and I got 9.81 in the 1st Rd on each side...wow, set's up tuff for me!!!

  • Yes, I am aware of that and adjustments were made to the bracketry. — Mopar_Mafia
  • No you did not face 9.81 in both first rounds, it was corrected before the race began — Mopar_Mafia

Looks like 29 is on both sides of the bracket? But its kinda hard to read on my phone.

  • MDG 29 is in the middle left bracket. You scored a first round bye with #30 on the right. That is probably a 27 due to the way I write my 7's. — Mopar_Mafia

For everyone's information, I initially used the random seeding provided by the bracket software on their website. I didn't have the time to look over all 7 other races seedings and determine who did what where, how and why. This morning I noticed that the random seeding had some problems especially in the middle brackets. So I re-seeded the brackets and made adjustments manually. Due to time constraints I did not have time to upload the revised bracket. I am sorry and apologize completely for any mis-understandings, mis-communication or hurt feelings that have resulted from this initial oversight.

  • No Worries Mopie...I was prepared to take my medicine like a man...it happens some times!!! — LeagueofSpeed

Today is a beautiful day for racing action, cooperative weather and lots of competition. Gates opened at 9 this morning, first round eliminations began at 9:45. Tempurature was a balmy 78 early on with 65% humidity gentle breeze SSW @ 7mph winds.

Competitive action early on between G-Force and Red Pill Racing that had to go to extended races it was so close. Good thing we have state-of-the-art 3D Botmaker Finish Line to make the call.

Starting line analyst also reports a heavy battle between Speed Force and Wild Rose Racing. Wheel to wheel, bumper to bumper with no clear advantage either way. It is still a dead lock stay tuned.............

Oh boy, we got a good one between a Speed Force entry and WinTech racing. It's a barn burner boys and girls. They're runnin' what they brung and it is intense. Whoever take this one will have earned it trust me.

RLD's early model entry is launching hard off the line and treeing everyone. Looks to be an early favorite, we'll see.

Now back with a word from our sponsor................................

Today's most interesting entry is from Red Claw Racing bringing their Algae Blue/Green 70's model. Always nice to see something different from someone creative. Matching wheels and tires looks serious better beware.

Gulf City's most surprising entry today is from newcomer JasKat Racing. Their Red with white striped split bumper is intimidating looking. Looked strong during test and tune session might be a sleeper in the making.
