dr dodge's crazy builds
I am going to video the assembly of all my unique builds
They will illustrate techniques different from the normal builds
and all my cars are this complex.
First the beaverworx jump car. note the axle retainer plate
that is how Black Beauty at MCM is also built

Some really nice work there, thank you for sharing!
To me, working on these cars in the hobby, yes one starts off with a$2 car (blank canvas) and you create your own form of diecast art. No longer a $2 car, nor a blank canvas!
So thanks again to all those great event promoters who do great work offering to, and returning the cars after an event!
Cheers

- Thank you — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- exactly! thanks to the hosts! — dr_dodge
next level dedication! Really interesting to see how these come together. So the bent edge of the retainer plate physically pins the axle into the groove, eliminating axle movement?
You post some interesting stuff Doc. I learn things just looking at your pictures. Thank you.
love the behind the scenes looks... thanks for sharing!
- I had to do something after watching your vid yesterday, which was good! — dr_dodge

if you have questions please ask. I'll make a vid if it's too complicated to explain
I want to share my non-conventional build style to encourage others to build out of the box, or at least develop new hobby skills

- Some really nice work going on. I really enjoy watching, and thinks about what I could try/integrate with some builds. Cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D

- LOvely intricate work. May I ask which method you are using to cut the brass plates, ie around the wheel cut outs etc? — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- Ah yes, a good method to cut your screws. Ha I can see you like "using what ya got around" too. Cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D
- I use a jewelers saw, files (big ones) I have 3-4 different circle ones for body fender work, and big flat, and 1/2 rounds to shape the brass strips. (buy 3/4 " x 0.090 for the heavy retainers) also havee a "heavy hobby" band saw and belt sander if it's too thick — dr_dodge
- Thanks for the reply. Cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D
