dual finish lines

Stroller Tuesday, 12/3/2013

I'm thinking of getting another 6 lane track just for the finish line and have 2 finish lines for the same race. One at the bottom of the hill per factory standards and then another at the end of the long straight. Might lead to some interesting results..................

Good idea....could be especially useful if they were timed gates. The only drawback w/6-lane gates is the paddles affect cars differently...large/tall cars being @ a disadvantage. Otherwise, the best way to separate 'short track' cars from 'long track' cars.

I would say...just eye ball it...for the most part you can see the difference, unless the cars are closely matched. I kinda think those paddles on the finishline might slow them down to the next finishline. The most important thing...in racing is who reaches the finshline at the end of the track first. It seems to me...this could only tell you which car might be better suited for racing on a downhill only track, versus a starting ramp style track with a flat section for the cars to battle out on.

So are you thinking 6 cars at a time and potentially two winners per race? (short and long)
