Easy Starter Finish Line

Kracon Tuesday, 6/26/2012

I have been playing aroung with my new track build. http://kracon.dyndns.tv/HotWheels/Track/HW%20Track.htm

I have yet to mount the track to the board beacuse I don't have a finish line yet. I think for 20 bucks the Hot Wheels Indy 500 Roll-Up Raceway TRACK PLAYSET is what I'll have to settle with.

Looks like I should be able to adapt the finish line to a real track..

agreed?

Discussion

I started with that same Snake/Mongoose starting line, so did Jobe here on the forums. My problem was that there is a separate button for starting each lane. I don't know why they ever did that. I tried to modify it a couple different ways. It worked for a while, but I ended up making a new one from scratch.

Pics of my starting gate are on this thread: http://www.redlinederby.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=687
It works great, and no magnets were harmed in its construction!

I'm using a Super Six Lane finish line, and with a few mods it can be placed anywhere...and its electronic, and makes nice sounds. I just got two blocks of wood and drilled a few holes to hold it in place and presto...done deal! I got the track for under $60, but you can find them cheaper on ebay, and save on shipping if you live in the States.

i was just about to cut off the track strips short of the finishline on the ROLL-UP track set, to re-use the finish...
but it is only 1.20" tall, still it blocks the second place flag from raising as soon as the first car has passed through...

i don't recall seeing that style before.... also the color doesn't jive with early hot wheels stuff...
