The Inaugural F1 vs. Station Wagons diecast racing tournament is set for Sept 15th. This is a mail-in tournament where each driver will mail in a modified 1/64 scale Diecast F1/ Indy car and a modified Station Wagon. Cars must be replicas of F1 or Indy cars in the list below, as well as a 1/64 diecast modified station wagon. We'll also need to driver names for both of your cars. No fantasy cars will be excepted. This should be crazy fun. Format is different, but not confusing. If you have questions, feel free to reach out.

Race format and scoring

As usual, the format is a little different at the Mullet River Sprint Track. We try to mix it up to make things new and exciting. Both of your F1 Car and Station Wagon will race at the same time. 6 cars in a group. 3 teams race in a group. Your two cars will start the lap on oppisite sides of the grid. If you have a car starting in 2nd, your other car will start in 5th. Grid will rotate clock wise for 6 laps. Lap points will be 4 points for first place, 3 for second place, 2 for third place and 1 for fourth place. 5th and 6th place earn no points for a lap. Each car will have individual score. If you have one car in the top two at the end of the six laps, your entire team moves on to the next round. This will eliminate at least one team per round. If a single team has two cars in the top two for a group, that means both of the other teams are eliminated. In case of a tie, tie breaker goes to the team with the most points. We know that a light F1/ Indy car and a 60g Station Wagon tested fine on the track. But three of each on the track at the same time will make it an adventure.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Random Brackets

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not race.

Cars that break during the race will not be fixed until the round is over. At that time only minor fixes will be made.
