@JDC - Having separate scoreboards is an interesting thought. I don't think it could be done well with separating total scores, but having a leaderboard of people that have picked the most winners sounds reasonable. Just because you have the top score in points doesn't necessarily mean you pick winners all the time.

@David -

Or is it if my car gets randomly chosen I get double but if I specifically enter my car in I get triple?

Exactly. The Advanced play requires players to enter a specific car in their garage into the race, but this requires action from the player to do so - it's not automatic. If you "physically" enter a car into a bracket, it guarantees that one of your cars will be in the tournament. Otherwise it's luck of the draw to get double points.

I want the players that get into the game (you guys) to be rewarded for your efforts, hence the triple points. Casual players that may start by just picking winners get points too, but if they want to win they have to get involved. I think it's safe to say that all you guys that post here in the forum will get the full experience of the game. When you get down to it, the fantasy league is for us that love the racing and stuff...but if casual collectors or car people want to have some fun, I want them to enjoy it...and just maybe they'll see the fun in the hobby.

I won't be participating in the Advanced game. I just don't have the time
to get Allstars should be allowed to be locked up.

I will most definitely be making more and better use of e-mails in this next version. Right now the weekly results e-mail is sent out and I really like how that looks and delivers, so I'm going to expand on that and program more mails into the system. Weekly reports with links to voting, stats, etc. are all on the table.

Keep in mind the double-points is all up to chance, so having the ringer cars in your garage isn't any guarantee because you never know when those cars will be raced. Of course, when they do race they'll probably win, but that's the point...just any game where you collect items, some things are better to have in your collection that others.

if you only used a bracket system where you had 16 races and people got points based on picking their choice on who would win each race

And this is exactly true. People will get points for picking winners whether they collect cars or enter cars. This will be the most basic way to play. I think having an All-Star section for cars is a good idea along with retiring cars. Cars can be retired from being entered by players, but they can remain in the game as random picks for tournaments.

Hmmm... Emails? I don't recall getting any emails. That's why I made the suggestion.
How do I make sure that I can get email announcements?

When you login to the League, choose to Edit Profile from your dashboard. There should be a checkbox to receive the newsletter. Hopefully as we move forward with e-mails I can add some more opt-in choices.

Thanks for the help. I followed your instructions and found it but
it won't allow me to change it. I select 'yes' and click 'update profile'
but it keeps resetting it to 'no'.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
