Faster FTEs

Are we seeing a change in the FTEs that are being released this year? For the last couple of years, a car labeled FTE doesn't always mean it is fast and they can and do lose in races against non FTE cars.

Here at Redline Derby and in my own collection the Ferrari 458 is a monster on the track. Can it be beaten? I have opened the Ferrari California as well and that is super fast.

I have the Deloran and 2010 Ford Mustang still packaged and they haven't opened yet to race. Is anyone else seeing the same thing with the 2011 releases?

I found that the C6 Vette was fast from the 2010 releases and Straight Pipes from 2009. They were far from unbeatable, but put up a challenge to any other car they raced against.

Seems the FTE's are just that this year, Faster Than Ever.

The Delorean FTE is pretty quick, but the Ferrari's are the two to beat this year so far for sure.
I have the Mustang and Triumph but really just bought them for the wheels/axles.

THere is a VW Thing FTE coming out, those were pretty quick stockers a few years back.

On my track at least i havent been very impressed with he FTEs. Even the 458 is winning by a car length or less againat nonFTE cars. I need to find the fte delorean...and i gotta say an fte Thing would be an ass kicker. Ive thouht about making my own fte vw.

The 2011 FTE series list:

DeLorean
Javelin AMX
NIssan GT-R
Mustang
Ferrari Cali
Ferrari 458
Bye Focal II
09 stingray concept
Camaro convertible
VW type 181

Sweet! Can't wait to find the others when they come out. Saw the VW on ebay already.
Haven't I also seen a Triumph with FTE wheels?

The FTE Triumph was one of last years cars.

Cool. Picked up a Delorean FTE on a short card at the grocery store tonight, they finally started putting some short card cars at the check out aisles...

Oooo...sweeet. I love that car. Fast as a beast stock too, that FTE should rip. I'll go looking and will have it ready for Season 5.

I would agree,

The 458 won our March cup, and the Deloreon came in second or third - can't remember off the top of my head. Those are the only two 2011 FTEs we had for that race. Interesting to see that it wasn't just ours that was fast.

Shopped some Walmarts, Targets and Toys-R-Us down to Seattle and back. Found a bunch of FTE Ferrari Italias, and Californias, some Deloreans, but no VW Things

VW Things just started arriving in our area.

I'm telling you guys, you need to try and find a "Retro-Active". It's a new model this year and it beat the FTE Italia twice (two different track set ups, both 40'+ in length) and they were two different Italias, not the same one. So, it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't exactly neck and neck either, it beat it by a good car length or two in each lane. I think it's extremely long body and wide wheels helps it run straight as an arrow. I'm thinking if you mod it with some extra weight, it would fly. It's not an FTE, but I bet it beats all of this years FTE's

It also could just be that my cousin got a one in a million Retro-Active, who knows. Definitely a car I would like to see added to the track though They are all around down here in SoCal, maybe I'll get one and donate it. You don't already have the Retro-Active, do you Brian?
