Fat Track test...
As you know, the Beetle Bash race is going to be on quite a few various tracks. So, I've been trying to sort out my 'open track' for the bug race...
I'm going to need a little more light for the slow motion filming. And, I'm going to put some cushioning on the floor, in case the bugs want to go off-roading!
I'm pretty happy with the track, and filming from right in turn one seems to work well

The 'Big O' fat track can be found on ebay, pretty reasonably priced...I didn't care whether the original box is in good shape, or if it even existed. The setup in the video uses two 'Big O' layouts...the corners work really well and the transition from Drag Track to Fat Track is done by using an adapter that Smitty made to go from dt to orange track...and then, the orange track will connect to the Fat track.
Yeah buddy... This is gonna be nuts with short wheelbase bugs....
- and a couple are pretty tall too. mine and RLD'S BAHA bugs.... lol — CrzyTrkrDude
- Yeah, I'm predicting a lot of 360's and 180's! — 72_Chevy_C10
This is what the Bugs will be running on...
And an example of what can happen!
They are gonna be all over that track!! Being a slower car might come in handy on this one!
Dude very cool! I have been racking my brain (during work) trying to think of a good set up. I think I need to find some fat tracks. I have an old Record Breakers track I am going to try to adapt for the road races for now.
