Google age verification
I recently had an email saying I need to provide payment card details or photo I'd otherwise my account will be deactivated.has anyone else had this,admittedly it is on my phone when I look up Google but I'm really worried about it being a scam and really only my utube account is linked to it.im thinking this might be because my daughter has recently put a few videos up and she is under 14

Looks like a phishing scam to me. But if you are worried, I would say contact Google directly through their page, and not from any link in an email.

Unsure if it is a scam or not, but an observation:
Recent state laws passed that are requiring "porn sites" to block people under 18.
I have read articles about it, and it's impact on "log ins".
especially "multi content" platforms
(by the way, I'm not arguing for the porn stuff being easy for kids to see)
The thing is,
when I publish a youtube vid, I check the adult option, (not for kids) and have been searching/wondering if the new ID laws will impact it,
aka blocking any unverified age accounts from watching my vids.
I can't seem to find an actual answer, only "opinion" pieces, and the laws vary by state, too
Could this be how google is gonna solve on their end?
I have also read about creating a "national log in number" (that sounds scary)
Just my opinion, and if anyone had more info, please post it

- I think there is a minimum age on being a content producer,my daughter being under that age had made utube/google question whether we alliw her supervised.i went through and out my driving licence in and seems OK. I've had the account since late last year without any questions then shortly after my daughter puts up a few videos they send me the email. — RalphsRacers

As long as you go to your YouTube account directly and not via any link in an email or message you should be fine.
