GoPro Hot Wheels car coming soon

You've probably seen the POV video of the Hot Wheels car going in, out, and around someone's neighborhood. Well, now Mattel is officially in the game with a GoPro mainline car, dubbed the Zoom In, you know, like Zoomin' - (On a side note, I wonder if the designers come up with these names, or if that's someone's sole job.)

It looks to be little more than a chassis with a clip on it, which is sized to fit the tiny GoPro cameras. That in itself is pretty cool - especially if you have a GoPro - but I look at that thing and think, "that's a lot of real estate for weight and mods." It looks to have a nice, wide wheelbase with your standard metal chassis. Could be a good all-around base for customs.

Sounds like this will the standard $1 mainline but I'm also guessing this will be hard to find once it is out in the wild. This has a little collectibility, but I also foresee people buying this and reselling it as a "camera accessory" for a lot higher price.

I seen an article about it Im getting it for sure. The camera feature will help with videos for this website. It will also be gr8 4 competition. We could set up an extra lane and get a good view of who wins. I wonder if u could attach it sideways? If anyone knows let me know.

I think the GoPro is a cube, so you should be able to position it in any direction.

I've thought about having chase cars with a camera before but never bothered to really explore it much because speed is such a variable. I'm not sure you could guarantee cars stay in the frame. But it'll be cool to see what people do with it.

Mashable has a post about it too, along with a photo.
