Got FTE's?

Was doing a little reorganizing last night and pulled out my collection of FTE cars. This doesn't include the loose ones...

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Some dupes in there for wheel donors.

I would have more of them out of the package but I have no where to store loose cars. I need to make a cool display that my wife will tolerate!

Wow, there's a few in there I've never seen before. And I thought I had a lot of FTEs. Which one is the white one in the second column, 5th one down? Looks sleek.

i have read that the F T E thing is that the axles are nickle plated, that it is not the wheels themselves... i've been wrong before...
what's the straight dope on them ? ?

You have it right. The axles are nickle plated. Their isn't any special about the wheels themselves. A few of the modders on this site actually remove the wheels from the axels so that they can use a heavier style for an added speed boost.

Having a stockpile of FTE axles is never a bad thing. But keep in mind a "fast" axle is only part of the equation.

We hit all the Walmarts and a few other stores last weekend driving to Marksville, LA (3 1/2 hr one way). I picked up just about all of the FTE's that were on the pegs! I had way to many to test last Monday night. I'll try to get a pic or an inventory later.

Yeah, I keep finding ones I never knew existing as well.

Here are the FTE's we picked up on our roadtrip (all except the ones uncarded and tested in Austin last Monday).

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

All I need is #3 & #5 to have all of the 2011 cars. Found a lot of the 2010 cars in Louisiana!
