GRAVITY AND AIR RESISTANCE

model40fan Saturday, 5/18/2013

Thinking that the decent placing of some of the sloppies on gasser bases might have a little physics involved,
we all know gravity is full time,
it helps when on the incline but hurts as soon as the racers are on the flats...
having the nose in the air forces air under the car,
because the car is accelerating slowly the air has little affect until it reaches top speed and flattens out,
now the air is having the most affect, lifting the car slightly reducing gravity's affect on the car... HMMM......

I would think that the main resistance these car face is from gravity, and spinning resistance on the wheels and axles. The air resistance I personally don't think would come into play at speeds of 8-12 mph...just my opinion of course.

We have discussed gravity and wind resistence it's quite a bit and yes it does make a difference even 1:64 scale
