G'day Jim! Welcome to the fun!

That corgi you showed is pretty special.

Would love to have you run your wears here at the Mountain some time!

  • Hello Bath hurst, Nice track! I've been really into restoring old Diecast with more of a focus on looks than speed but I'm sure I can find something to race. (Or I have an excuse to make another car....) — Sunshine_City_Garage

Hi Jim,

Glad you took to time to introduce yourself.  I'm more of a track host than an expert builder, but I certainly share a lot of your childhood memories with HWs and Matchbox.  What do you mean when you say "retro track"?  Will it be all orange track and turns from the 70's, or are you wanting your track theme to be retro?  Are you interested in building an open style track with 3D printed pieces?

Cheers,
Mark H.

  • Hello Mark, it will be mostly orange track, I wanted to do some "fat track" sizzlers but after reading here I believe that the adventure force might be the better way to go. I'm getting ready to post a detailed thread soon about my track idea which I will put in the track section of the forum. — Sunshine_City_Garage

Welcome...I tried to get hip deep last year in all this fun, but inherited some land and built a house instead(my apologies to the Host races I committed to and failed to show up/contact)...I've been racing these little cars since the 70's as well, slowed down some in high school aka girls and sports. However, I'd race some cars over Christmas break etc., and that was the formula thru college and beyond. The archives here are fantastic and a deep or shallow dive will yield a serendipitous experience. Best of luck in your diecast endeavors.

  • Yes I know what you mean GBU, last year threw me for a loop as well between major plumbing issues and Hurricane Milton. But I'm ready to get racing. — Sunshine_City_Garage
  • Looking forward to racing with and against you! — GBURacing

Show and Tell

This is my minty Alpha Carabo from 1970...the pink with yellow base rare gem. It's been out of the box for awhile, as the box can put box burns on the paint over time, anyway, thought peeps would like a peak.

Here's what happens when you don't take care of your cars.

Welcome to the community! There are TONS of resources here. Also, some pretty cool people. You're going to love it!

All the best to you in your diecast endeavours !
