GTR Season 3 "Under Construction" Rallycross

What better way to begin Season 3 of GRAVITY THROTTLE RACING than host an "under construction" tournament on my unfinished Shavano Mountain Rallycross track!

NOTE:  The track is complete, but the scenery and the backdrop will be worked on during this tournament.

This is a 4-lane track.  Cars will launch from the start gate and immediately jump over the Shavano River, then they'll navigate up and down over some challenging offroad terrian, slide around a drifting corner, clear a 2nd jump, then go flat out down the Shavano Municipal Airport runway.  Finally they'll circle back and try to survive "The Scrambler" before crossing the finish line. Oh, and did I mention the 2nd jump is over a train!  If your driver times that jump just right, EXTRA points will be awarded.  This could mean the difference between winning and losing.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 70g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 1.25in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entry per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Dry lube only

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Friday, 9/16/2022. Racing is scheduled for Friday, 9/16/2022. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry.

Include at least $5.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Please provide the following:

1. Driver name

2. Country you represent

3. Name of your Racing Team (if you choose to include one)

4. Number on your car for identification (or ask the host to add a number sticker)

Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry

Track

Over 60 feet of twisting, turning, drifting, jumping, and bumpy racing!

Race format and scoring

This will be a double-elimination tournament. Bracket seeding will be by time trial.

This is a 4-lane track. Head-to-head competition will involve 4 cars at a time. The top 2 finishers from each head-to-head competition move on. There will be 4 races with each car occupying a different lane each time down. The third place finishers from each head-to-head will have one last opportunity to move to the next round. Only the top 2 finishers will advance through the quarter finals and semi-finals.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
