Has anyone come across an old car thats fast
I been getting into the hobby alot recently and been doing alot of races on a track that is 3d printed and i have had couple of surprises i have a old school matchbox mini cooper metal on metal rolls really nice and also a couple of corgis a austin healy and a Gold aston martin it got me wondering if anyone else races the older cars and how they compete against newer hot wheels

Yeah in 1984 as we were finishing college I came across a 1965 VW Type 3 Fastback for $500 with the engine in 3 boxes. Had the heads and carbs rebuilt and put it together. Dual carbs - 1600cc - 4 speed it was super peppy and handled well. Drove it for 3yrs with no issues.
Concentrate on 1990 to 2006 (date on back of the card) and you'll find plenty of speed. Good Luck and Happy Hunting.
Old cars can be fast too...but it often takes some persistence to find them. I've purchased dozens of race-able vintage pieces via online vendors over the past 15yrs. The very first question for any potential seller is "Does it still roll?" followed with "How well does it roll?" and "Does it roll strait?". Any reputable seller will reveal the true condition of wheels & axles. Almost any vintage HW redline, JL Topper, MBX Superfast, or Corgi Rocket can still be found in race-able condition if you look hard enough. Don't be scared away by chipped paint and obvious playwear. I have many redlines and Toppers that show thier age in appearance but still roll perfectly.
This is my 1972 HW Mercedes Benz C-111 racing on DCR's East Ridge course in 2014. Most of it's Spectraflame Yellow paint is missing but it still runs respectable times.
Older cars tend to be faster than newer cars, but you never know.
