High Lift Pickup Smackdown!

Rules & restrictions

• $10 ENTRY FEE
• Modified entries only
• Must claim a racing number in your response. Number decal can go on the hood or cab. Another option is on each door. No hand-written numbers or paint brush jobs.
• 70g maximum weight
• 4.0in. long x 1.87in. tall x 1.58in. wide
• Limit 1 entries per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Dry lube only (silicone is allowed)
• 59 drivers needed. 1 mystery driver has already been invited.
• Eligible Hot Wheels and Matchbox High Lift pickups are listed below (but not limited to these).  No Jeep or Jeepster pickups allowed!
• Front and rear axles must be BELOW the bottom of the chassis. Must use 7mm wide knobby tires (or wider). Any wheel color except clear is allowed.
• No wheel well hogging or shaving is allowed.
• Custom High Lift mashup pickups are allowed but require approval by the race host.
• Added weight is allowed under the chassis but must be painted black. No tungsten putty please.
• Body factory paint is okay. Custom paint jobs preferred.
• You are allowed to load the bed of the pickup as long as the contents are appropriate for racing. No bikini girls, farm animals, manure, or zombies please.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Sunday, 2/1/2026. Racing is scheduled for Sunday, 2/1/2026. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Racing will be on the Great Sand Dunes. View track profile and specs

Race format and scoring

Time trials will determine the top 32 entries that will race. Scoring will be 5-3-2-1. Group races, quarterfinals, semi-finals, and the finals.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not be eligible for the time trials.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
