Home made track connectors, eliminate problems with alignment

Low voltage shield from Lowes, $0.64...thickness is very close, lower half of the connector is filed a little narrower on each side, the wider end of the connector makes that track end narrower... wider end of the connector goes towards the starter...
sounds wrong, but works... [1] $0.64 shield makes [3] connectors, up to you, straight or offset, good deal either way...

a home made straight connector is in the even width track sections;
note the track section with the wider connector is narrower,,, go figure !

Great photos to show how you templated out the cuts. Could probably just use a utility knife too, simple and easy. Make each connector like 20 cents, nice!
