Hot Wheels Metal Chassis's/Bodies

After the end of the Red Lines when did Hot Wheels stop putting metal bodies/chassis's together. I understand once in a while they still do that put some out. Are those cars worth anything in there original packaging? One last question, are there any cars that were really fast?

Some of the "special" lines in the stores now have the metal/metal combo. The Hot Ones, Cool Ones and other specialty lines do, you just have to look. They're usually about $3-$5 but I've found it cheaper (and more fun) to get the $1 mainlines that have the plastic/metal build and match them up to a metal/plastic casting. It's never a perfect match but I find it satisfying when it works out and rolls well.
