Hot Wheels Snap Rides, modding in a box

Okay, so calling it "modding" is a stretch but it looks like Mattel is getting jealous of our awesome race customs ;) I don't know how new the Snap Rides line is...I'd never seen it before but it's been a while since I've been out to scope the aisles. Plus I usually skip the "special" models and go right for mainlines...

Saw an Instagram post from RaceGrooves and then some other searching. Anyone have these and played with them? 

Basically just a small snap-together model. Pretty cool if you're a kid, me thinks. I would've loved it and wanted all the cars so I can mix-and-match.

Not very cost effective for those of us that can wield a Dremel but could offer some interesting parts.
