Hurricane / Fastlane

I've been worried about Victor Fastlane and the other members who were in the path of the hurricane. Some other people I follow online had damages in the Asheville, NC area (Clint from LGR had a tree crash through his roof and rain water was leaking into the basement where his collection and studio are) and I know that Victor Fastlane is a little east of Asheville in Casar, NC. Has anyone heard from him since the storm? I'm guessing that he's still without power or internet like many others in the area.

I got family out there, they got clobbered. My nephew is still stranded and can’t get home. You’re right to worry about anyone out there. Hope he’s ok.

I did some looking into it. Man that sux!   Hopes and prayers for everyone.  And our good friend Victor. Hoping to hear something soon from him that all is good.  I was about to mail out cars to him for Stock 60+2.   But I'm thinking maybe thats not such a good idea?

Chris

  • Yeah, you might want to hold off. I sent two cars for it along with my NASCAR entries. I don’t expect him to be running on schedule even if he got through it aright. — Billys_Midway_Racing

I live in Asheville. It's bad. I'm supposed to get power back tomorrow or Friday. Our water won't be back on for another three weeks, at least. The small communities in the hinterlands are so isolated that they can't be reached. I'm going back up today from Columbia for the 4th time with much needed supplies. If you have someone's address I can do a wellness check.

  • keep us posted, if you need something, ask! — dr_dodge
  • Man, I'm not far from you there RayRay. Just over the hill in Greeneville. I know y'all got hit harder than us so glad your good. We still have no water here at the moment but hoping it will be back soon. Several main bridges got washed away as well. Just counting our blessings... — LRL_The_Lords_Racing_League

  • He should be fine. I looked at Google Earth and it's totally flat there with only a tiny creek a couple of miles away, and there's no large trees next to his house. The only concern there is illness considering the size of the chicken/hog farm right behind his house. It's too far out of my way, but I just put in a request for a wellness check in that area. I'm sure it's just a lack of power to his place. Most places out in the country as far east as Columbia in SC still don't have power, so I'm betting that's it. — RayRaySugar
  • thanks! — dr_dodge
  • Thank you, Ray!! I’ve been really worried about Victor and many others who I know down there. It’s nerve wracking to have all of this modern communications equipment and being used to instant communication but when it goes down, it can be debilitating. — Billys_Midway_Racing

Looks like we getting about a 3 here in Sebastian.  The west coast is gonna get the bad one.

Water (we live on the reever, west side of sebastian inlet and in sight of the beaches) is already 6 ft higher than normal.  We will be fine, unless flash tornados.

Hope all goes well for and Redliners in the path.

Jacob Holder at Funkhouser has also been affected with some property damage. He's currently helping with relief efforts as well. Bolo at MCR is just north of Tampa right on the coast so he will definitely be affected by the next one.

Very relieved to see y'all posting from the affected areas that you're OK. Be well and keep us posted!
