Input required, World Diecast Games

Simmo Saturday, 2/21/2026

Hello my favourite online people.

As you know I am involved with this new idea of the "World Diecast Games", basically an Olympics for diecast events (time trial, races, jumps, big air, hill climb, drag, endurance, Formula Libre, rally etc, etc.). Held annually.

We will also be running different classifications based on weight/category to entice rookies and veterans into the "games":

- Stock

- Super Stock

- Pro Stock

- Modified

- Open (to be clarified more)

Details and formats not important right now as still thrashing those out whilst the track gets built, but I would like some input from this wonderful community.

Each event or discipline will be following "Olympic" style format with gold, silver and bronze medals.

The question is with "drivers" who wish to enter we are debating whether they (1) Represent their nation, in true Olympic style OR (2) Their racing team, because most of you have racing teams. This is more to do with us record keeping and having a "Medals Table".

Plus, this dictates whether we use nation flags or racing team logos.

My thought process is, nation representation is awesome but we could have limited numbers. Racing teams, opens it up more and plus we will also be having "Team Combined" events like the proper Olympics so that could have more entrants.

Early stages, and I will share the journey and formats coming but off the bat we are just debating whether a "driver" represents their nation or their racing team.

Input, as always, on this would be very welcomed.

The thing is, if we are all allowed to represent our nation, you'll have like 30 American builders and maybe 1 or 2 from every other country

  • that is exactly what I thought — Simmo
  • Tim, who got me involved - bless him - thought there would be like 8 or 9 nations. I was like, erm, I don't think there will be. — Simmo
  • Personally, I say do logos. More representation. You can always put up a flag for their nation, too, but I think team logos is the way to go, because there will be so many different ones. — SpyDude
  • I'm with Spydude, cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D
  • If not nation one could always represent the state one is from. Just a thought. — Justin_Thyme

Just on the first two comments from RLo and Dutch, I personally think it would be neat seeing those logos and others on a "flag" as the medal ceremony happens. Just my imagination running away with me.

Just an add-on to this.

I got a few people here in the U.K. hyped up when I was doing the Diecast Racing News (I promise I will get this back on track).

And for the World Diecast Games, only for stock categories (basically rip n race, no mods) we have 85 vehicles sent/donated/entered so far. Which is awesome.

I also think racing teams is the way to go

  • Looks the majority here — Simmo

It would be cool to see all of the team logos on display. There are some really great looking logos and team designs.

  • I think this is the way to go — Simmo

We are new to this but I like idea thrown out by Dutch_Clutch_Racing!

  • Agree — CutRock_R_Marc_D
  • I agree with this Spy, like they do with NFL helmets, and have the nation flag on the back. I like this. I thought it would be better, more beneficial and fun for teams to have their logos on the medal ceremonies. — Simmo
