I like the realistic looking fantasy cars... i'm not into the ridiculous looking ones. Cars like Solaire, Speed Blaster, Way 2 Fast, Shadow Jet, Shredster and Twin Mill are my favorites. But the weird ones likes Troy Soldier, the stupid buzzsaw car and animal ones i'm not really into.

Way 2 Fast isn't a fantasy car, drag racers were coming up with crazy stuff like that in the late 50's/early 60's...but I agree, the fantasy cars that look somewhat realistic like concept/wild show cars I don't mind so much. But the ones that look like giant scorpions with wheels, I can do without.

Keep in mind that 'fantasy cars' are a big part of HW's roots. IMO, many of them are certainly feasible in 1/1 scale if resources($) were unlimited....which is kinda the whole point. Also, a lot of them are notoriously good performers on the track because they're not limited by the design restraints normally associated with scaling down an existing full-size vehicle.

I think that the downhill racing community is mostly gearheads and I agree with what has already been said. IMO, only real cars and reasonable facsimiles belong on the track!

With that said, I just bought a crazy bat car and its pretty quick.

A crazy bat car, or the "Batmobile"?
Batmobile . . . now that's a car!

Nope, sorry. It's exactly what it sounds like. haha. It reminded me of a song by Devin Townsend called "Vampira" (Because the car is aptly named Vampyra) so I had to picked it up. The car ended up being all metal and pretty quick, so I have no regrets! Even if the thing is absolutely hideous!

If I find another one I'm going to buy it and donate it to the Redline Derby.
