Junkyard Joust Custom Car Battle
Friday, July 29th, 2022This tournament will pit custom cars (single or in teams) against each other to prove who can survive in the Junkyard Joust. Winning is great, but even if you don't win it's still fun to be a part of the spectacle and look cool while doing it.

Race format and scoring
The format may change depending on number of submissions but as of now the plan would be have 5-10 teams compete against each other in at least 1 competition, but probably more.
If you send less than 5 cars (for example you just want to send 1) your car may be added to a team to compete. If I get a lot of singles I may do a single car competition.
In this Junkyard Joust competition all cars will run down the track in a random order. At the end of the round if a car is sideways or upside-down it is eliminated. If it is right side up (a 45 degree tilt or less is considered right side up) it moves on to the next round. This continues until there is a winner (team or singles). If I do a series of races, there may be a bracketed situation with multiple winners until the championship.
Penalties/DNF
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track will forfeit their matches. Any car that breaks during racing can still compete (assuming it is not eliminated) unless the car is unable to successfully make it down the track. Pieces that break off during competition will not be reattached.
Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins.
Prizes
I haven't finalized the prizes yet but they will be things like diecast cars I have (in the package and loose), Junkyard Joust pins, stickers, and car sponsorships in regular Junkyard Joust episodes.
