Just Ordered 100ft Track

Preacher Wednesday, 4/2/2014

We have been talking about doing this for a couple of months...to help promote our monthly race, and to offer a new race venue. We are calling this "The Monster Mile"...actually it will be more than a 1/64 scale mile...but it should be interesting to see how the cars will run once the track is setup. It is the "Blutrack Pro" grey track that is suppose to be more pliable and not as stiff as the older blue colored track, so it can lay flat once it is rolled out. I'm already prepared to get the heating pad out to keep the track at a temperature of 100 degrees so it will stay flexible in out somewhat chilly climate here in Canada. When we get the track, I will be posting videos on how fast the cars are running, and hopefully they will make it to the end without too much carnage.

What kind of set up (drop, ramp length, etc) are you planning?

We have an event here that is a top speed event. Would be interesting to put all your track on an inclined plane and set top speed records! You could call it - The Canadian 2K

Yeah...Events like the "Texas Mile, and Moscow Unlimited 500" have been race events that have had my grey matter thinking for a while. I really hope & Pray that the cars won't dribble over the finshline...the ramp is going to be set at 8 ft with a 13 ft drop to the straight track section. So it should be interesting. We have also located a outdoor park "Beacon Hill Park, Victoria B.C. " that has a section of road blocked off going downhill. During the summer months this place is crawling with families and should be a good place for others to find out about our monthly race event.

If you are going to call it the Monster Mile, you already have the mascot in place from the real Monster Mile in Dover Deleware.

Hi Preacher, this guy has some nice vids of cars racing on a 100ft roll of Blutrack Pro.

https://www.youtube.com/user/jpcrankspanker/videos...check out "Blutrack video01 & 02".

You can see that he's had to support certain portions of the track to keep it flat over certain terrain. I really like his use of 'camel humps' in the long dragstrip. Some of the cars really seem to 'lighten up' on the downslopes...very cool.

Yeah...I've seen this guys videos...but he seems to like seeing cars flipping and crashing. I'm wanting the track to be super smoooooooooooooth for some super speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed all the way to the end! Maybe in a few weeks I can do some testing and post some videos. Stay Tuned!

I'm most interested in seeing your vids, Preacher. My concern is that even if your BluTrack is strait & level, wider. Long wheelbase cars might have an advantage here...then again, Matchbox made several Superfast cars that were too wide for orange track. They might be right @ home on Blutrack. Going to get the track this weekend...looking forward to seeing what it will be like and how smooth the cars will run.

Just got the Blutrack on Sunday, and had a chance to roll out part of it in the hotel room for a quick test. The cars all ran fast...but mind you, the track had been coiled up, and was still cold...so it had a few lumps in the first 25+ feet. I had an ironing board as a makeshift ramp but it was only a few feet high. When the temps get warmer we will be doing some serious testing, and video of our cars making the 100+ft run! This is going to be good...stay tuned!

It's sunny today, and I have the track warming up in my car outside. (You know how hot it gets in a closed up car ) So I'm hoping by this afternoon that I can do a few test runs to see how the cars run on the track. So hopefully I can stretch it out for a test run! Stay Tuned
