List of Diecast Cars
I thought it would be cool to create a list of different manufactures over the years for potential cars in racing and customizing. Looking outside of the standard Hot Wheels, Matchboox, and Johnny Lightning.
I went through the cars I had as a kid (early 70s to early 80s and I am sure full of lead paint) and these are the companies that I came up with.
Tomica
Fast 111s (Kenner)
Tootsietoy
Yatming
Corgi
Ertl
Play Art
Zymex
Midge
Ideal Toys
Kidco
Tiger Wheels
Greenlight
Maisto
Winners Circle
Racing Champions
Tonka
Not familiar with them? Do an E-Bay search. Many of these are metal/metal cars. Some have open interiors with no base.
Will try to take and post pictures of each manufactuer this weekend.
What other companies do you know of?

Here are some pictures of the "gently" played with cars.
I found one of the Ertl Ford Mustang-Mach 1s still carded at a local shop and gave it to my wife for Christmas as she likes to race Muscle Cars. So far, she hasn't wanted to open it yet.
And some unopened Fast111's that I still have from when I was a kid.
Gently?...
I saw a Majorette for sale at the RIHWC last night; I considered buying it. Are they ever fast?
Cars/Disney
Did anybody say Jada?
Shelby
I don't know if NASCAR has their own 1:64 scale brand
I wouldn't consider the Cars/Disney ones since they are bigger than the 1/64th size.
Some of the NASCAR cars would fall under Winners Circle and Racing Champions. Im not sure about current releases. There are some really fast NASCAR cars that you can buy at the Wal Marts/Target but they don't have a make on the bottom of the cars.
Does anyone know the story on the white Ertl Roadrunner stock car that I took a picture of?
I found some Real Wheels today at Winco 3 for $1.23 Not very promising looking.

Other than the fact that it had one heck of a life?..no, I don't.
I'll take a closer look at the ones I see around next time I see them.
Auto World
Uh...it seems like there's about seven-thousand different brand clumped together at Toys 'R' Us, but I can't seem to think of the rest of them. Maybe we already did.

They're made by Spin Master. I checked a package of one.
I saw a few NASCARs yesterday at Stop&Shop; they seemed to be made by either 'NASCAR Authentics' or something that began with an H which I now can't remember.
Motor Max
Action
Majorette
Fast Lane
M2 (I think that's a brand)
Muscle Machines (which was its own brand until Maisto bought it just recently)
Tonka (unless they're also supported by Maisto)
There are a couple other obscure ones on The Toy Peddler, but I don't remember what they are.
