Anyone else see a price hike on mainlines? Was in Target tonight and the regular cars were up to a $1.19 - they used to be a $1.09, which was already more than they were the year prior. Looks like the days of 99 cent cars are long gone. Sucko.

Great pic!

I was working about 2 hours away this week, so I hit some of the Family Dollars and Dollar Generals up there. They've been $1.25 at those stores for a while. I haven't made it to Target or Walmart in a week or so. I guess I'll see what they're going for 'round here tomorrow.

Yeah...the "high" price for mainlines in drug stores and some grocery stores around here was a firm $1.29, whereas the Walmarts and Targets would settle around the $1 mark. Bummer to see the price go up. Thankfully I have tons of cars saved up for racing so I can float on those for a while...although now when the cars are a $1 or less on sale it's all the more important to stock up.

Last time I was at the local Wal Mart they were still a buck 'O nine...no, that's something else. They were $1.07. The local Sav Mart grocery stores have a buy 10 for 10 bucks deal going on for a few weeks now. I found out that you don't have to buy 10 and they are a buck each. Nice.

I'll just have to make up that 44 cents a year somewhere else.

in 1968 i think that hot wheels were about $0.65, gas was a around quarter, a half pint carton of chocolate milk was $0.06, hershey bar was a dime...i was 12..
wallmart is about a 25 mile round trip... i spend more to get there and back each trip, than i do on diecast...
compared with most stuff... we got it pretty good... keep on cutting boys !

Right Smitty, and before there were Hot Wheels the Matchbox cars were 55 cents each.
No way Hot Wheels would survive charging that much for there cars back then!
Seems like the Corgi cars were a buck and a quarter back then too.

I did some spying at the local Target.
I would like to personally thank Brian for paying higher prices to keep the prices down in my area!
