McDonald's Hot Wheels

Does anyone know what the axles that are on the McDonald's Hot Wheels that came in the Happy Meals in the early 2000's? They are really thick! Thx for the help...

I have seen all plastic cars, too
they say mattel, but no HW logo
wonder if those are happy meal cars?

I've purchased two McDonald's cars off of eBay for specific collections I have. The bronze bubble top is the older one from the 90s and it simply says on the on the base Mattel and for McDonald's. The nice swoopy blue car is a little newer, and on the base it does say, Mattel And hot wheels and for McD.
the axles did not look really any thicker or different than standard hot wheels as far as I can see. In fact, the blue car may even have nickel plated axles. I think it would be kind of silly for McDonald's to step outside of the normal bounds of what makes the hot wheels a hot wheels as it would just add extra expense and complication.

- Admittedly I do like bubble top cars, but my knowledge is currently limited to old cars 60s through 70s — Sunshine_City_Garage
- "Innovator" is the bubble top orange car. 1999 release. Wow, the McDonald's series of cars on the Wiki has the most Image Not Available entries I've seen in one group, so fortunate that this one DID have a photo in the listing! — Chris_Hood
- Thanks for the info Chris, I will definitely be on the lookout for that one! — Sunshine_City_Garage
- Hey Abby normal, what are some of your favorite bubble top cars you have? — Sunshine_City_Garage
- Hey, thanks for that info. Chris. I primarily bought it just because it looked super cool. And standby there sunshine garage. I’ll put up my collection about eight or nine bubble tops hopefully later today. And they do span from the classic bubble top of the 1950s and 60s up through this one. — AbbyNormal
- Thanks Abby, that is most appreciated! — Sunshine_City_Garage
Ultra Hots and Hot Ones axels...thin and fast, McDonalds axels...thick and slow. I'll show myself out.
Criminy, these axles look like three penny NAILS in this photo, proportionally! Gotta be detrimental to top speed with the added surface area contact with the inner wheel
