Mini GT Mod

Recently got a BMW M4 Competition by Mini GT. Thought it would look super cool if modded and had potential to be fast. Anyone know what specific mods I might need to make it faster and easier to race? Also, it has mirrors on the side which I don't think will affect the slots it fits in, but would love to hear if anyone knows.

If i remember correctly, they have fixed axels/wheels, meaning the wheels don't spin independnt of the axel, and the tires are rubber. That will have to get swapped. Besides that, those things are already pretty heavy, should need to add too much weight.
