My First mods (Gasser and flatbed truck)
I am new to this community but have been looking around the forums and have found some really cool things. Here's my second mod, a gasser (got the idea from the Redline community).
Before:
After:
I also wanted a flatbed truck, but I don't really like the backslider so here's what I came up with. A '63 Studebaker Champ with a backslider flatbed.
I am very new to modding cars and I still need improvement but I am willing to take on whatever mods interest me. Any feedback and tips would be great! Thanks.

Thanks! I probably wont enter it into gasser wars because it doesnt roll well and I live in Canada so I don't think shipping would be cheap.
Welcome to Redline Derby, Jarret! I hope you have fun picking up techniques and ideas here in the forum...and make sure you check out the [url=/fantasy/]Fantasy League game too where we race stock cars every weekend for fun and prizes.
I love the flatbed truck you modded. What truck did you use for the bed itself?
If these are your first mods then I'd say you're on your way like a rocket! I really haven't made that many mods but I love seeing everyone's creations. Also make sure you check out the mail-in tournaments being posted around here because they are often mod races so you can put your skills to the downhill test.
If you have any questions about Redline Derby or experience any problems, don't hesitate to send me a PM.
Happy racing!
Thanks Brian! I have already done my picks for the upcoming races this weekend! For the flatbed itself I used the flatbed off of the backslider truck from the 2011 city works line. I had to cut it a bit to make it look normal.
welcome aboard J,
nice work on the jug.... think gravity and wheel fricton.... see you in lane two...
Good looking mods there sir!
I have a couple of those Thunderbolts and they are terrible racers. It may not be your mod that is the problem with rolling, but the car you started with.
If you can pinpoint why it doesn't roll well, correct it on the next build.
What part of Canada do you live in? There's guys in this forum that live in Washington State and Maine. I wonder if you could ship a Hot Wheel at a reasonable price to one of those places. To get in on some Mail in races.
i mailed a couple cars to a race in australia, $... wasn't that bad, ....
I LOVE that flatbed truck! Awesome work! Good looking gasser too! Are you going to enter it into the next gasser wars race?
