My latest road course

I took some vacation time over the Thanksgiving holiday and built a new 2-lane road course in my living room. Here's a brief video overview...

https://youtu.be/pw_pZLD-37s

It was built using new & vintage HW/Sizzlers track pieces along with 2 Max Traxxx 90deg 2-lane curves. Starting height is ~50 inches and the total length is roughly 45 feet. The track is kept 'fair' with the use of a vintage HW lane cross-over inbetween the 2 90deg curves. Sizzlers Fat Track was used for the final 180deg curve and finish stretch. Here are some video test runs...

Dodge Charger SRT8 vs. C6 Corvette (Metal-on-plastic mainlines)

Phastasm FTE vs. Octanium Race Aces (Plastic-on-metal w/nickel-plated axles)

As you can see, the design allows the cars to finish the course with a decent amount of speed. In many of the heats that I ran, the cars ran door-to-door through a majority of the course....the Fat Track finish is the obvious "x-factor". My only complaint is the limitations of the tight Max Traxxx curves....top-heavy or long wheelbase cars simply won't go through them @ speed.
