New 6 lane race track from Mattel...at Target
Was in Target yesterday afternoon and spotted this on the shelves.
The cars run in a trough so to speak. No track of any kind involved. But digital display I guess.
No price on it and I didn't go scan it to see. Folds up and has wheels on it like a rolling luggage peice.
The pegs were almost empty, I've had no luck with HW's at Targets lately.

Oooo....gonna have to stop by Target and check it out. The finish line alone has me interested. I'm gonna need something like that if I ever want to go beyond my 2-lane track.
Found it at Amazon too...but I find it hard to believe it's really $81! Holy crap!!

yeah I saw that one as well, ejects the slower cars! LOL.
Intriguing. Very much like their 4 piece track. From the picture, it doesn't look like it is infrared or anything as the cars appear to be hitting something which triggers the light/lane number.
The finish line for the four piece track they have can be used as a separate unit in bigger tracks as there are connectors for the orange track--but you do have to flip the finish line thing around. Can't tell if this has that or not. If it does, you may be able to take the six lanes finish line and have it sitting at the end of your track.
Good to see that Mattell continues to look at the racers out there.
I have this track, and got it off ebay for $39 plus shipping...total price was around $54. The track is GREAT and easy to set up...plus the finish line is really good! I've rigged up some wooden block and drilled some holes to hold the finish gate up. You can add your Hot Wheels track to make it longer...right now I'm right at 17ft...it's a super deal! We do a test a tune race at our church on the third Sunday of the month and with six lanes you car really run some cars through in a hurry...plus there is no eye balling trying to figure who won the race. Major Kudos for the electronic finish gate...it was worth the price of the whole system IMO. And then on the forth Sunday, we set up our 25ft track for some 2 lane racing action. With the wooden blocks I drilled two sets of holes so that I can use the finish gate on both track setups! Everybody really likes it a lot and it makes for some fun racing!

Preacher, do that finish line can connect to normal orange track?
So the finish line is a pass-thru that lets you continue track beyond the contact points? Hmmm...good to know it works well, thanks Preacher. I'll keep an eye out for a good deal.
If they have any still laying around, after XMas Target had them marked down to the $20 price range.
Preacher, do that finish line can connect to normal orange track?
The finish line doesn't connect to the orange track, but all you have to do is get some wooden blocks, say out of 1x3 or 1x4 and drill some 1/2 inch holes to support the finish line, and presto...you can set it where you want it...its that easy. Whenever I use the Super Six lane, I almost never run that track by itself without adding more length.

does the starting gate remove the same way ?
This picture makes it look like the finish line does connect to the orange track. That is where I am wondering still if you can just pop off the last section, take off the finish gate and put it on backwards so the cars are coming towards the tabs-just like the 4 lane HW raceway allows you to do. Now you can use the finish gate on a really long track with any track setup that you have. If you can do that, buy two of them and take the finishing gate off one, add orange track to extend it with the tabs already there, and then add the other finish section reversed at the end. No blocks, drilling etc...
Do the sounds get annoying from the gate and does a low battery have any impact in the results?
For home, use these downhill tracks have been pretty good. I wonder how good the start gate is sometimes the throttle switch or knob is too short .
