Cabin Raceway: New Cars - New Track - New Direction

Simmo Monday, 3/16/2026

The prep at Cabin Raceway is going really well. Scenery is coming along, got some figures on order and a few buildings already. Got a a new logo for the track with my actual race cabin digitised.

I have also found myself in the fortunate position to have been rewarded at work via a bonus, and that my diecast friends, is going on a full track purchase from Spool Heads plus some extras, so that will be ordered this weekend.

Also, I am teaming up with Majorette, I have used their cars before and I really like them and for the new circuit and the events I am going to host, it will be solely Majorette cars and it is hoped to also do some promotions for them as and when the channel goes up (once I finish the circuit).

I now have 13 of them in the Cabin Raceway garage:

Not in order of the photo:

ALFA ROMEO GIULIA
ALPINE A110 R
MCLAREN SENNA
MERCEDES-AMG GT R
FORD MUSTANG FASTBACK
TOYOTA HILUX REVO
RIMAC NEVERA
CHEVROLET CORVETTE STINGRAY
NISSAN CEFIRO A31
NISSAN Z
MERCEDES-BENZ 190E EVO2
CHEVROLET CORVETTE ZR-1
MERCEDES-AMG GLC 63 S

Very exciting times.

That cool can't wait to race in it.

  • I will start by just running some in-house (or Cabin haha) events, and once I am happy and confident enough to host you professionals, I will most certainly put out invites. — Simmo

Nice, nice, nice! And bonus props for going with Majorette. I am indifferent to them but it's nice to see something different, and I hope you're able to find some mutual with them. I mean, if you have an in with them and can get packs of cars and you unleash them onto your track, that'd be great stuff.

  • Yeah, I am happy to the norm and have fun (it's what we are for isn't it?) and I tried doing something different with the Jump Pit, but it just wasn't racing and did not excite me. So, I decided to go Majorette brand only and see where that goes. I'll have fun in any case :). — Simmo

Nice track, if I was in the buying mood that's exactly what I would do. Nice score on the Majorette deal let's see how they roll

  • Fingers crossed. — Simmo

The "steampunk" buildings were from the train layout of my father in law, I do like my steampunk and there will be a little community section within the circuit, like a steampunk village, which the cars will race through.

The current draft layout is this (please excuse my scrawl and it is not to scale), but the length of my main frame is 9ft long, it will start up in the forest, spiral down and then the farm fields and countryside (the English countryside haha) which merges into the villages and then the main Cabin City finish, then there is an extension out of about 3ft to the side, and that is where I am going to build an airport (the Cabin International Airport) and few other buildings or industrial units etc. All a work in progress.

And also for the scorecards or graphics, I have been able to create digital images of the actual cars so looks nice on a scoreboard, I'll just share a few here:

 McLaren Senna

 Mercedes-AMG GT R

 Corvette Stingray

 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Good luck with it all!

Yes I do like Majorette, have run a couple here n there at times. I have quite a few castings and did plenty of testing on them. I do wish however that the wheel quality overall was better. I have plenty with egg shaped wheels or off centre hubs. Pity.

Majorette Australasia are a good mob though, and over the years have responded to me.

Cheers

PS The Hilux can be a quick casting for a Majorette, as well as The Isuzu Ute, if you can find one.

  • The Hilux is my "oooh" casting. I am not a modifier like the rest of you, so I will be intrigued to know what your modification experience is. — Simmo
  • I do enjoy the stock or rip n race suspension, nice curve ball. — Simmo
  • Hi Simmo, I saw your email addy from your todays post, so will write something to you in the next day or two. Cheers — CutRock_R_Marc_D
