Newbies in the UK, father-son channel

Daddystig Wednesday, 12/10/2025

Hi Everyone

My son and I are starting a new race channel in the new year.

Craig my son has learning disabilites and has loved cars since he was a toddler , in fact he could say Renault before he could say Daddy!!

Craig will never be alble to find employment as he grows older , so during a recent health scare with my heart I got thinking about how to tackles this. Both of us collect diecast Craig more so Hot Wheels but I collect cars from the 70s and 80s onwards .

So Turbo Tots Racing was born. We are starting out with a basic extended Hot Wheels 6 lane drag strip and see how it goes. Both of us would like to hold competitions one day.

If anyone UK or worldwide can help with anything it would be greatly appreciated , I inparticular would like some advice on filming races etc

Drop me a line at daddystig71@gmail.com

Thank you

Chris & Craig Beard

That's awesome! It's great you're working on it together...it'll be a ton of fun and when you look back it'll be even better. And once you get things up and running, make sure you come back here and share the link.

As far as tips for video and stuff, check out the Video & Photography tag in the forum - it's got many year's worth of discussion about cameras, lighting, YouTube-ing, and all that stuff. Just remember you don't start pro, you get there. Find out what works for you guys and have fun with it.

My daughter had a moment when she was interested in all my Hot Wheels but less so about racing and more about just collecting and unboxing them (this was during the unboxing craze!) - so naturally she wanted to do her own video unboxing cars and talking about them, just like she saw her YT channels doing. I had the equipment but I let her direct and dictate...she was into it...for that day. It didn't stick but that's okay - she checked that box on her list and we'll always have that video and memory of making it.

Just want to wish you both all the best!

From Downunder,
