Go retro or go max speed. That is the question. Working on this Kenner turbo tram and I can tell you the room for lead is limited. It's pretty clear that if I leave the pilot in it will be underweight. Or I could pull the pilot drop in more weight paint the canopy and call it a day.

Have to think about that for a day or two. Part of me says this is a land speed record kind of vehicle so going for max speed would be the thing to do. Hmm

Here it is with a new set of wheels temp glued in for testing -------

  • cool casting! — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
  • a carbide rod inside, and you can keep a clear canopy — dr_dodge
  • Did you have that? Or have to go out and buy one... — Zamak_Speed_Shop
  • Nope I had to pay FatBernie on eBay $7.25 so I’m trying to minimize too much further investment. — AbbyNormal
  • Good Luck with it sir! I only have 1 Kenner but it's not a Turbo tram. It is fast enough to be in my case thou — Zamak_Speed_Shop
  • Thanks Zamak - it’s a neat little casting but a bit fragile. I just got my short drag strip all fixed right and the Turbo Tram is setting some top times and it’s not fully modded. Plan to build and paint this in the retro’50-‘60s land speed record salt vehicles. — AbbyNormal
  • Looking forward to seeing it. — Zamak_Speed_Shop
  • I love the land speed record stuff — dr_dodge

Can I send a car to someone to have it modified?

  • not that I know of, just gonna have to drill some rivots for yourself, plenty if info here on how to do it, and welcome! — dr_dodge
  • I started this crazy hobby about 10 months ago having never touched a single hot wheels car before in my 68 years on this rock. I started by entering stock cars in events and gaining experience. Buy a few cars, buy some graphite and jump in. — AbbyNormal
