Yesterday evening I discovered that I had been modding and working on the wrong casting for the Polo event coming up. So I spent Sunday doing two rush jobs to produce two cars that could hope I get one of them race ready. Here are the two final results and they're going battle it out to see who goes to Texas

I think this is the worst pitting I've uncovered so far.
Edit: Here is a before photo. This came to me already well loved by some kid, in pretty rough shape. It was part of a full 5 gallon bucket/$40 bulk purchase.

- As you can see in the additional photos there was no tell of what was lurking beneath the paint. Amazing how well they can hide stuff, even in mainline cars. I've no idea when this will be called up for racing but I'll be getting it ready never the less. — BadWoolRacing

'63 Studebaker truck in the paint booth getting ready for Timeless Trucks
Doing some upgrades in the race shop. Since my heart attack last May and double bypass in July I can't say "some day" any more.
This was my method for hold my cars during painting (rattle can). I would pull the nails and reposition as required which seemed tedious and limiting to how many cars I could do.
I'm already going to improve this using machine screws coming from the bottom instead of wooden dowels glued in, but this is my new primer/paint tray.
By using screws they will stand straighter and I will be able to easily add/remove them as desired for large batches (mainly primer days.)
EDIT:
I bought three of these cutting boards. Drew the grid on one and then clamped them together to drill the holes at the same time. The squares are 1" x 1" with an additional hole drilled center(ish) of each square in case I need to adjust spacing. I made the second one with machine screws. The third will stay blank for now. I already plan the next improvement by adding nuts to the screws. Right now they are threaded into the board but as I remove screws/adjust spacing I anticipate the threads in the board to wear. When that happens that screw will get a nut placed on it to keep it in place and not slip out as I move the board around.

I e had a lot of cars cross the work bench. Feeling under the gut to get cars out to races I e entered. Finally taking the time to build a racer from a vintage car. Love bringing the old ones back to life!! Not sure what race it will be going to yet but I guarantee it will be hitting a track in the near future
